The Townie Fox was born out of a simple belief: this neighbourhood deserves a great place to eat. Having lived in the area for nearly three decades, when the opportunity came to take on the site, and save it from being turned into something other than a restaurant entirely, we knew we had to act. The previous owner was looking to sell, and there was a very real chance it would have become a chiropractor's rather than the welcoming local eatery it had always been.

 

We couldn't let that happen. For us, it was about more than just opening a bistro; it was about preserving something that matters. A place where neighbours become friends, where you can start your morning with a great coffee, linger over lunch, or settle in for a proper dinner. So we took it on, gave it a fresh identity rooted in warmth and community, and set about creating somewhere the neighbourhood can be genuinely proud of — a place that feels like it's always been here, because in spirit, it always should have been.
